Main Aims

To provide detailed reading practice using a text about Live in London in the context of city

Subsidiary Aims

To provide fluency speaking practice in a Family words in the context of the student's favorite place to live

Procedure (36-49 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage, I am going to talk about the traffic problems that I have in Rasht as a big city, and compare it to my small city Lhijan.

pre reading (2-4 minutes) • learning new words

I am going to write the new words at least 7 words that are related to the text while I am talking about the main topic. Ask different general questions to encourage the students to participate in the class and talk about their ideas and experiences. I will give the the handouts and work on it

reading (15-20 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will give them the text and I want to read it quickly and then ask them to tell me what are the main and general topics. then, I will give them more time to scan the text and ask them different questions about the details of the text.

after reading (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

they should answer to different parts of practices that they have after the text. they must do it as a pair work to help each other and the teacher observes all of them.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

the students can talk about different places and also, as they know each other they can offer new places to other classmates that is suitable for him/her.
