Main Aims

To provide gist and detailed listening practice using a text about In My Free Time in the context of Daily Activities

Subsidiary Aims

To provide clarification and practice of Like/Love + verb + -ing in the context of Activities In Free Time
To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a Debate in the context of Activities In Free Time

Procedure (27-35 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

First, I am going to engage with the students using the related topic of this lesson and ask what they do in their free time.

presentation (8-10 minutes) • To get the general idea of the listening and then go in detail

I`m going to take a quick review on the related grammar. Then teach them some of the new words used in the new lesson. after that I play the audio and ask the students two general questions: - What were they talking about? - What kind of sports did they talk about? Then I play the audio for the second time and ask them to complete the chart and check the answers.

Drilling (8-10 minutes) • To practice the lesson studied in context

I am going to pair the students ,give them time, and ask them to do practice 4 and check their answers, then do the same thing for practice 5.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

To lock in the lesson, I am going to pair up the students and ask them to tell each other about an ordinary and normal day in their life from morning to night and take notes.
