Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The students will be asked if they have ever gossiped about their neighbors . Then I want them to look at the picture on page 96 and guess what two women are talking about

Pre-Reading/Listening (3-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

The students will be aware of following words ' meaning. So I will write new words on the board in one column and synonyms of them in another column.First students have 1 minute to try to match the words with its meaning individually. Then they will be given 2 minutes to check their answers in pairs.Eventually they share their answers with whole class. I will write following question on the board: What are Rosemary and Iris talking about? After that l will play the track number 12.3. Students are gonna listen to it and answer those questions . The answers will be checked with whole class. If students' answers are different, they should justify them.

They will have 1 minutes to check their answers in pairs then answers are checked with the whole class. Students will need to say the reason of each answer they choose and they will need to support their ideas if they come up with different answers.
