Housework, make or do?

Description

In this lesson SS are going to read a text about doing workout and doing housework but before that for lead in part they are going to talk about do they even do housework? Do they enjoy it or not.I'm going to ask them to guess what they are going to read.I'm also going to ask them an skimming question. Then SS are going to read the text deeply and answer to controlled practice question (I'm going to answer the first one). for free practice they are going to talk about which would they prefer? housework or workout? what kind of housework do they enjoy? etc.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I'm going to show some housework pictures to the SS, then I'm going to talk about doing housework, I'm going to ask SS some questions such as: Do you do housework? what kind of housework do you do? do you find housework relaxing? etc.

Pre-Reading/Listening (12-15 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

In this stage the teacher is going to teach the students some key vocabularies of the text using some pictures to help them learn better. The students are going to match sentences A-F to article 1 or 2.Then they are going to check their answers in pairs and at the end with the whole class.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The teacher is going to show photos and titles to the student and ask them to guess what they are going to read, then the teacher is going to ask them to skim the text and answer to the teacher's question.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

The Students are going to read the text and fill the title's blanket with a word in reading part.They will check their answers in pairs and then with the whole class.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

The students are going to be divided into groups of 3 and discuss which comments they agree with.
