Main Aims

  • To provide practice and review of Present Simple, This-That / These-Those/ Possessive S and Verb to be
  • To provide clarification and practice of Countries\Nationalities\Everyday Objects\ Family members\ hobbies and likes\dislikes

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation and a debate(maybe) in the context of What to be revised

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

We can start with a communicative game to engage students

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Will hand the students a quiz about present simple and give them time to answer

Revision (20-25 minutes) • To revise areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Will go through the grammar info we worked on through the ppt (Present Simple, Verb to be, This-That-These-Those, Possessive 's) CCQs: Present Simple: Does it happen every day? Is it a habit or not? V. To be: do we use it in most sentences?

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Another handout given focuses on present simple but harder this time

Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will provide flash cards and let students work in pairs and mingle, talking about what they like and hate, their daily routine,, and their habits.

15 minutes break (15-15 minutes) • Break

Break

Lead in 2 (3-5 minutes) • To set the base for the 2nd topic

Will show some pics to talk about family

Vocabulary Revision (8-10 minutes) • to gauge students' memorizing of vocab

Will provide a family tree template and give them time to answer

Revision (20-25 minutes) • To revise areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Going through the family names and everyday things shown on the PPT. asking necessary CCQs for the tricky words. Regarding explaining family members, it will be drawn on the board as a chart for students to visualize. Will talk more about activities on the PPT in addition to the everyday objects.

Test 2 • Confirm understanding of the Vocab and produce output

Will provide handouts about activities and objects to answer.

Freer Practice (15-20 minutes) • To prove language fluency and let students use the revised language

Will provide flashcards and act like it's a party and everyone gets to know each other. Letting students talk to each other and ask about hobbies, favorite stuff, nationalities, and also using grammar.

Feedback (2-3 minutes) • Spot the light on the errors and correct them
