Main Aims

To provide gist and detailed listening practise in the context of cheering people up.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide review and practice of phrasal verbs in the context of cheering people up.

To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of having bad days and how to cheer up.
Procedure (31-45 minutes)
Ss will work on Ex.1, they´ll have to look at the photos and discuss why the people might be having a bad day.
In this stage of the lesson Ss will work on Ex. 2, 3, 4 and 5. These activities will help them prepare for the listening activities that they´ll do next. They´ll work individually in the written activities (Ex: 2 and 4, 3 minutes for each activity) and as a group in the Speaking activities ( Ex. 3 and 5).
Ss will work on Ex. 6 and 7, in which they´ll have to pay attention to general information. When they finish we´ll check answers as a class.
Ss will work on Ex. 8, in this activity they´ll have to pay attention to more specific information. When they finish, they´ll check their answers as a group and then we´ll do class correction.
In this last stage of the lesson, Ss will work on Ex. 9, in which they´ll discuss as a group if they agree or disagree with the statements in Ex. 8. T will ask them to try to use the phrasal verbs and vocabulary revised in the class. T will pay attention and then give them feedback on their discussion ( correct and incorrect use of language).
