Main Aims

  • To provide deduction listening practice using a text about Liking and disliking Foods in the context of Food

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Game in the context of Things

Procedure

Warmer (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. Put the pics of new words on the ground with numbers. 2. Say: I like carrots. Number? / I don't like.... 3. Then bring one of them and ask him to play your roll. 4. Teach them 3 new idioms . Open your books / Close your books / paint / Raise your hand. In 2 min.

Pre-Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

1. Point to the girls on p72 * look! Is she happy or sad ? 2. Point to the foods * What's this? Chips *What's this? ...

While Listening #1 (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

1. Say : watch/listen and point foods. 2. Say: Listen again and repeat after the song with sad faces, rub your tummies. 3. Play the Audio and stop it after each line. They must repeat together. 4. Ask: Do you like the song?

After Listening (15-20 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

1. Draw ❌️ and ✅️ on the WB 2. Point and Say with rhythm : no no NO / yes yes YES 3. Ask them to repeat. 3 times. 4. Point and Say with rhythm : false false False / true true TRUE 5. Show your Red market : *this is Red. True or false? True true true. *this is blue. True or false? False false false. 5. Show your pink market. *this is purple. True or false???? They must answer. 6. Give them more examples . *I don't like ice cream. True or false? Faaaaalse I love ice cream. *I like snakes. True? False? 7. Ask about other words in the book. They should guess. Show their pics on the tablet

Post Listening/Activity (5-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1. Divide them to 1 or 2 groups. 2. Bring the board game and model how to play. 3. Ask them to say a true sentence about the pic. Like ? Or don't like?
