Procedure (26-35 minutes)
I begin to talk about my family rules and values. I mention some rules in my family about respect, household chores and responsibilities by using Must and Have/Has to.
In this section I ask my students to talk about obligations and necessities in school, society, family and public places.
First step I will write some sentence with "must"on the board. In this stage I can use students' wrong sentences they said so I ask students to help me correct them.Second step I will write some sentences with "have/has to" chosen from my own sentences or students' sentences
I will start eliciting the meaning by explain that "must" means"want" but "must not" means "prohibit" and "have/has to" says ''a rule'' but "don't/doesn't have to" says'' something unnecessary''.I also write the negative and question forms of them on the board.I will elicit the form of them by students' help.Using colorful markers is so beneficial to clarify the form and make it more interesting. The intonation and pronunciation will be focused on.At last I give my students handout about difference between "must" and "have/has to".
The students should exercise on page 140 individually in 2 minutes and then they have 2 minutes to check in groups. I will ask them to share their answers with whole class. The process of checking with the whole class may last 2 minutes.
I show some pictures of signs and notices then I give them 7 minutes to talk about them and challenge themselves in their groups.
