Procedure (29-40 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Students are shown the location of four countries and asked to brainstorm the climate and the lifestyle of people living there.
While-Reading/Listening #1 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
Students are told they will listen to four kids living in different countries. The purpose setting questions are asked . Elicit AND CHECK ANSWERS. 1. Which speaker talks about a home that in is not on the groud? 2. How did the house in the fist speaker talks about get its name?
While-Reading/Listening #2 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
Ss are asked to listen again and answer 3 more detailed questions . Elicit AND CHECK ANSWERS.
Post-Reading/Listening (10-15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
Speaking: In groups of 4 discuss the following questions for each type of home.
