Description

In this lesson students will learn MFP of the verb HAVE GOT, and practise it ( controlled and free practise). They´ll also continue working on the present simple in the context of jobs ( Headway 1. Unit 2)

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Highlighting (5-10 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Clarification (10-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Continue working with the same Liveworksheet as in the previous stage of the lesson, Ss will work on some activities to practise the grammar point, Teacher will pay attention to their dobts and questions. Ss will work on Ex. 1 and 2

Controlled Practice (10-15 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T will tell Ss to open their books on page 11 ( the class will continue working on Unit 2 of the book). We´ll work on Ex. 1, Grammar and Pronunciation ( Grammar Spot, page 131). Ss will work in pairs in Ex. 2 and 3. Then we´ll do class corrrection.

Semi-Controlled Practice (10-15 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Ss will keep practising the topic Simple Present Tense. They´ll work on page 12: Ex. 1, 2, 3 and 4. Ex. 1, 2 and 3 in pairs; Ex. 4 as a class.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss will work with a Word Wall speaking activity to practise Have got and Simple Present. They´ll work as a group.
