Procedure (35-45 minutes)
-Using the PPT to display the questions below sequentially, the eliciting answers from Ss for each. Who is married here in this class? Where did you meet your wife? Where do young Turkish people usually meet?
- I will use the projector to show the pictures of the book, then to raise questions about each, like: What can you see in the picture? Do you think they know each other? What are they talking about? Where are they meeting? and then receiving answers from the students for each question.
-hold up a HO that includes question 1.b and explain it, plus distributing another hand out that has the pictures -asking Ss to sit in pairs -Distributing the first HO -Playing the audio -SS work in pairs to check their answers -FB (Checking Ss answers)
- Displaying question 2.a using the PPT and explain it - Making sure that the Ss know what to do - Asking Ss to answer the question (PW) - Checking Ss answers -Using the time line to explain the difference between the past continuous and the past simple in terms of duration
- Distributing a HO about the form of the p.c - Giving simple instructions to clarify it plus displaying it on the board - Asking Ss to work in pairs to answer the question (Ss have to change their partner) - Checking Ss answers (Ss will write the answer on the board) -Clarifying wrong answers -then Ss will listen to the audio and repeat after it to practice the pronunciation of the weak forms of (was and were) in the p.c - asking ss to repeat in chorus and individually
-Ss do question 4.a after I give them clear instructions (PW) - eleiciting answers from Ss -Ss move to question 4.b and write the correct form of the verb (PW) -Ss check their answers together - Clarifying wrong answers (if any)
