Procedure (35-45 minutes)
I will ask Ss how long they been studying english for I will ask Ss how long they have been living in their current home for
I will provide Ss with a hotel reservation dialogue in which they will have to read and identify what the text is about
I will ask Ss to identify where "for" is being used and under line it in the text
MEANING : I will show Ss how the TL is used as a preposition and a conjunction in different sentences I will ask Ss to identify the meaning in a diagram and give examples of how 'for' can be used FORM : Ss will identify the use of "for" matching sentences in a word spot exercise on google forms PRONUNCIATION I will make emphasis in the absent sound of the 'r' of the monosyllabic word "for" I will ask Ss to read out each of the sentences they created with the right pronunciation
I will ask Ss to refer to the activity in which they will cross out phrases or word that do not belong with "for" Ss will fill in the blanks with "since" or "for" in a task accordingly I will ask Ss to compare their choice of answers and attend any questions they might have
Ss will create sentences with ''for'' + a period of time / for six years, for a week, for a month,for hours, for two hours. Eg > I have worked here for five years I will ask Ss to produce the previous sentences in question form and ask one another fr practice. DEC/ delay error correction I will monitor Ss practice of the use of "for" and provide and discuss with Ss a final feedback
