Description

In this lesson ,students will start with discussing positive and negative effects of internet.Then they will be provided with a reading text along with a gist task. The reading text contains TL(prefixes) and students will be exposed to TL. Whole class will check answers together for the gist task. Then they will be guided to TL. Clarification of meaning, form, pronunciation of the TL will be presented and then students will be given an exercise to find more about TL. CCQ will be asked to check students' understanding.After whole class feedback, a controlled practice is conducted and students will check answers in pairs. A free practice then will be the last part to let students practice TL fluently.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

At this stage, students will be asked to discuss about positive and negative things about internet. This is to get them familiar with today's topic:internet.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Students will be firstly provided with an article for them to read. TL is included in the article and students will be exposed to it. Then they are required to do a gist reading task first to get the main idea of the article.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

TL will be presented to students and I will try to elicit meaning of TL from students.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

clarification on the meaning ,form and pronunciation of TL is presented. and I will try to elicit meaning ,form and pronunciation from students. also, I will model and drill for the pronunciation.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

students will be asked to do an exercise for a controlled practice of TL. students will choose the right prefixes for some words. They will do it individually and check answers in pairs. then a whole class feedback is conducted.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

students will do a gap-filling worksheet on their own and then they will discuss answers with their peers before a whole class feedback. this free practice is meant to let students use the TL fluently.
