Description

In this lesson, Ss will learn how to introduce themselves and others. They will learn how to understand simple questions with be.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of introucing themselves

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of verb to be in the context of introucing themselves

Procedure

warmer (3-5 minutes) • to engage Ss in the lesson

I'll introduce myself and ask Ss about their names. I'll ask everyone to type his name on a paper and put it in front of him. I'll show Ss the first slide and tell them that two pictures are related to me and one isn't. I'll ask them to guess what it is.

Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • to engage Ss in the lesson

I'll ask Ss to look at the pictures on pages 6-7 and then look at the table of words for these photos. I'll ask them to repeat after me then I'll ask them to work in pairs, one says the number, and the other says the words.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

I'll ask Ss to listen to a conversation Ex.1 then practice it in pairs. then listen to Ex.4 and practice it in groups.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

I'll write the verb to be on the board and demonstrate its usage. I'll ask Ss to listen to the conversation in Ex14 and then complete the sentences in Ex 13.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

I'll ask Ss to work in pairs and show photos on their phone ask and answer who those people are. I'll ask them to Show me the photos and ask about their partners' photos.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

I'll give Ss feedback on what they should have learned.
