Description

In this lesson, students learn about the past perfectly simple based on watching two videos about unusual jobs. The lesson starts with a question: Had you already decided on your dream job when you graduated from high school? and small discussion among students. Then, students do pre-watching activity with key words and predict job roles. Then it is followed by questions and answers using Past Perfect Simple.

Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context according to the topic.

Students answer to the question: Had you already decided on your dream job when you graduated from high school? during 1 minute and exchange their answers among group.

Pre-Watching (5-7 minutes) • To prepare students for the video and arouse interest.

Students look at dream jobs and choose their dream jobs according to their opinion. Then, they look at the words related to 2 videos and predict the content.

While-Watching (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist activity

Students make notes about job responsibilities while watching the video. They compare their answers in pairs.

Post-Watching (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the video

Students answer to the questions by using past present simple and write appropriate answers according to the text.

Grammar section (10-15 minutes) • To practce grammar and comprehend new topic.

Students go the page 110 in Total English Students Book and do excercises.
