Main Aims

  • To provide listening practice for gist and detail in the context of choosing the right job.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To enable students to understand related vocabulary and get familiarized with the form and pronunciation.
  • To provide students fluency speaking practice in a vocab-related activity in the context of jobs

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. Greetings, Introduce Ss to the topic of jobs -- Have Ss discuss questions about jobs (What is your job? do you like it?) Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible (gist)
