To provide gist reading practice using a text about Telling lies in the context of common say and tell collocations

To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of common tell and say collocations
Procedure (31-40 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
I will ask Ss. to think about ways you can know when someone is lying
Exposure (3-4 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation
I will ask Ss. to read the text and choose the best title
Highlighting (3-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language
I will ask Ss. to read again and write down 2 phrases in the text with the verb 'tell'
Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language
MEANING I will ask students to match collocation with the correct image FORM PRONUNCIATION a. sentence stress b. drilling
Controlled Practice (6-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
I will ask Ss to match collocations in Google forms
Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language
