Description

In this lesson at first the teacher will show students some un complete sentences and will ask them to complete them , He will start with himself and then then students so that he can use their answers to teach PP , He will use the timeline and the board to teach students how its used , what the positive and negative form , the question form and the contraction then he will ask them to answer some of the questions brought from the grammar bank and at the end he will ask the students to talk about some of the incidents they have experienced in the past.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of The past perfect in the context of incomplete sentences - answering them by your own will

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Free discussion in the context of The past accidents in the trips

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher will start the session with asking students to answer some incomplete sentences , He will start with him answering one of them and then asking some of the students to answer the rest.

Highlighting (1-2 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

He will use the students answer to make his point and talk about how they can use the PP to make them better.

Clarification (5-6 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

In this phase the teacher will use the timeline and the board to help the students understand this part better. He will teach the positive , negative and question form. He will talk about its contraction and not getting it mixed up with would.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The teacher will ask the students to answer some questions from the grammar bank to help them really understand the lesson. He will monitor them for any kind of mistake they may make and fix it for them.

Free Practice (5-6 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

At the end he will ask the class to talk about some of the incidents they have had on their trips before. He wont focus on them using the grammar just talking fluently and being able to communicate with others.
