Description

In this class, pupils will learn the grammar of first conditional sentences. The section begins with the teacher who will talk about possible events that might occur in any daily routine, (three-four sentences) in the form of the related grammar structure. Then, pupils must talk about what possible fortunate or unfortunate events might happen during day. Afterwards, I will highlight one of their sentences on the board in to clarify the subject. controlled practice will take place in the end, as well as the free practice.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of First Conditional in the context of What if something goes wrong while doing daily courses.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of, What if you lost your wallet while shopping?

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will talk about, what will I do if, I arrive at the airport later than I should I have. The target language must be used by the teacher while speaking about the mentioned subject.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

Pupils will have time to talk about what would they do(if a car accident happens, or what if they lost their wallet or such situations). It is also accepted If a student wishes to speak about other possible situations. as instant, one might say, I will call the cops if I lose my wallet in the park or other particular places.

Highlighting (3-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will Highlight one of the pupil's sentences (while they talked earlier) on the board and begin to teach in order to analyze its structure and mention its uses.

Clarification (10-13 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

1) an explanation about the overall meaning of FIRST CONDITIONAL SENTENCES. The first conditional is used to talk about things which are possible in the present or the future things which may happen. For example, if it's sunny, we'll go to the park. (Maybe it will be sunny). CCQs must be asked by the teacher. 2) Its structure and form will be explained by the teacher, by the end of class. In first conditional sentences, the structure is usually: if/when + present simple >> will + infinitive. *The written 1st conditional samples in the book (page 64) will be used as examples.

Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students are obligated to answer the mentioned questions in the book (64th page), accordingly. They will have to talk about them and re-state the questions.

Free Practice (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

page 141-8B. Students will be recommended to find the correct answers of the given practices. 2 or 3 of the questions could be answered, if time permits.
