Description

in this lesson they are going to learn classroom objects, colors and letter Aa

Materials

Abc classroom objects, white board, flash cards, text books and power point

Main Aims

  • To provide specific information in the context of classroom objects

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a alphabets

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

i ask them if they know any thing about the classroom objects and if they know i ask them to show me.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I play the audio file and while its playing i show the colors. for the second time I read aloud with the song and ask them to show me the colors. for the third time I ask them while they are showing the colors, say them aloud.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I play the classroom object audio and ask them to listen carefully. while the audio is playing, I show them the objects and flash cards to make them understand the words. then I play it again and ask them to look at their books and repeat after that. when the audio is finished, I ask them the words and they should point to the objects that I say.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

I ask them what colors and classroom objects do they see in the class to make them repeat the words. then I go to the white board and ask them if they know what is the first letter of the alphabets. I write capital and small form of letter a and tell them what is the sounds of it, then its their turn to come to the board and write the capital and small a. I ask them if they know any words with letter a. I play the alphabet video and we repeat them together. now its story time. I show the power point on the screen and read it aloud explain it to them.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

now its time to write the alphabet book. I explain them what to do and correct their mistakes if they have any.
