Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage I'll talk about how I miss my hometown when I'm in my dorm and how hard it is sometimes to be this far from your home and family and the way we should keep communicating with each other even when we are so far from one another. and I'll ask them how they communicate with their long distance friends.

Exposure (2-4 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

here I'll show them a postcard that was in the book and ask them to read it and tell me where did Helen and her family went to visit.

Useful Language (5-8 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

in this stage I'll focus on the postcards layout and the words that are mentioned in the reading and also the expressions that are useful for writing a postcard.

Productive Task(s) (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

I'll tell them to go to practice 16 on page 64 and do it by themselves.

Feedback and Error Correction (10-15 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

after collecting their writings I'll give them them feedback by finding their errors and teaching them the correct form of that.
