Procedure (45-59 minutes)
Teacher asks students about the weather, then asks one of the students who has been living in Dubai about the weather in UAE
-Teacher shows students 2 pictures of herself in the States with a 10 year-difference between each picture. -Teacher pre-teach some of the target vocab through elicitation. -Through the 2 pictures, teacher recycles vocab used in an earlier session about how people change
Teachers play a 3-minute video about the topic
-Teacher clarifies the meaning orally, writes the new words on the board and emphasizes the stress on which syllable. -Teacher asks CCQs to make sure students understood the MFP of the words.
Teacher hands out sheets with fill-in-the-gap task for students to answer individually
Teacher divides students into two groups and asks each group to speak about the most challenging problems they may face if they travel abroad alone.
Teacher divides students into pairs and asks each student to write 3 challenges and then exchange it with his/her peer.
