Description

Teacher talks about sth that happened in her last trip to raise intrest in students. Then, asks to say their opinion about what could go wrong when they are on a vacation.

Main Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about dreams using verb forms past and past participle

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a coversation in the context of dreams using past simple and past contiuous

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher asks the students to look at the pictures page 48 and talk about what they think is happening. As the conversation leads to the subjects about dreams, ask the questions page 48 part a: *Do you often remember your dreams? *do you think dreams can tell us anything about the future?

Pre-Reading/Listening (1-2 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Learners are supposed to make predictions about what they think they are going to listen to.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

ask the students to listen carefully to the audio so they can number the pictures of activity (b). Play the audio for the first time. Students will have a few minutes to check their answers in pairs. Then, we will check as WC feedback.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Ask the students to open their books page 48 part(c).Give them a few minutes to read the questions. then, ask them to listen carefully and fill the blanks of activity (c) with verbs in correct form. Play the audio for the second time. Students will have a few minutes to check their answers individually or in pairs. Check the answers with WC and give feedbacks.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Ask the students to write a paragraph about a dream they have had lately, and say if their dreams ever come true. Monitor carefully . After 5 to 10 minutes check the answers with the WC and give FB
