Procedure (33-47 minutes)
The teacher shows the picture on page 90 to the students and talks about her first time reading fairy tales when she was a child.
The teacher explains the blocking words to the students. Folk tale: a story originating in popular culture, typically passed on by word of mouth. what are some examples of folk tales in your mother tongue? Moral of a story: the lesson that a story teaches about how to behave in the world. Miserable: (of a person) very unhappy or uncomfortable.
The teacher asks the students how many characters the story has and who are those characters. The students start to listen to the audio and they should be able to answer the question.
The teacher asks the student to find the moral of the story and answer the questions on page 91 section 5. Students listen carefully to the audio and discuss their opinions with the rest of the class and they work on the questions in pairs.
The teacher starts a free discussion by asking the students if they have ever taken the precious things in their life for granted. And if they have later regretted doing so.
