Description

This class starts with me, talking about my tiny experience with art and painting and then, I'll teach them some key words related to the listening. I'll ask the student to guess what the listening topic is about. before listening to the track a general question will be asked. then I'll go on and set a more specific task and play the audio for them to do the task. then I'll ask another question for them to answer about the listening.

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed listening practice using a text about Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy in the context of art

  • To provide clarification of useful words in the context of daily life

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

It will start by me talking about my experience with art and painting and then I'll ask the students to talk about theirs.

Pre-Reading/Listening (4-6 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I'll teach them some key words through the pictures that I prepared.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (3-6 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I'll ask a general question about the context of the listening before playing the audio. and want their answers after listening to it.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (6-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

I'll tell them to read the sentences of exercise B on page 8 and after playing the audio I'll give them some time to do it and we will check the answer together

Post-Reading/Listening (5-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

for finishing it up, I'll ask them to judge the characters of these 2 people based on what they heard in the listening.
