Main Aims

  • To teach students basic greeting, how to count to ten, the alphabet, and introduce them to the verb "to be"

Subsidiary Aims

Procedure

Ice breaker (20-25 minutes) • Introduce yourself to your partner

T- have people introduce themselves with their names in Spanish to each other T- now explain how to introduce yourself by saying your name and nice to meet you T- have each person present themselves to their partner T- now teach people how to introduce their partner T- now have students work on presenting each other in groups. T- have a few students present their partner to the class

Exposure and practice (15-20 minutes) • teach students how to use possesive pronouns to introduce someone else

T- start by going around the classroom by saying what everyone's name with all the possessive pronouns T- write the possessive pronouns saying the name on board T- have the students present their partner.

Exposure (15-20 minutes) • practice the alphabet

Practice the alphabet with the students.

Task (20-30 minutes) • teach students how to spell their name verbally.

T- spell your name verbally with the students. T- have the students verbally spell their name. T-say random names to see if students know the spelling T- have students write down and spell their favorite names

Exposure and practice (10-15 minutes) • To teach students titles

T- write mr, mrs, miss, on the board with explanation T- use concept questions to test students comprehension T- have students introduce themselves as mr, miss, or mrs

Exposure and repetition (15-25 minutes) • introduce more greetings.

T- introduce good morning, good afternoon, and good night to the class T- use concept questions to test students on good morning, good afternoon and good night. T- introduce "how are you and more basic formalities" T- have the students ask their partner how they are T- now have the students have a full conversation saying their name and how they are in English using all they have learned.

Exposure (15-25 minutes) • to introduce students to the verb "to be"

T- Present to students the verb "to be" and the different conjugations and meetings. T- Use concept questions to check students understanding.

Controlled Practice (30-30 minutes) • to see students comprehension of "to be".

-Have the students talk about where they are. - Have students present themselves again and show how "to be" can be used for a profession as well

exposure (15-25 minutes) • to have students count to 10

T- write one-ten on the board T- teach students how to ask and say their number

Controlled Practice (10-20 minutes) • check student's comprension

T- have ss practice asking their numbers with eachother

Controlled Practice (30-45 minutes) • to see comprehension of whole lesson

T- go through book practicing comprehension of each subject taught today, using activies of separting people in groups etc.
