Description

The main idea of this lesson is happiness which students will go through using a reading in this Reading students will learn new vocabularies which are in contract with happiness. Students speaking skill is also important so the class will work on speaking as sub aim in that can help students go through lesson better and learn things more effectively using different skills and also new vocabularies.

Main Aims

  • To provide the ability of Reading context and generalize eat to their real life

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide an opportunity to speak more fluently using new vocabularys and express their ideas based on the subject

Procedure

Warmer / lead-in / pre-reading (20-25 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1- I will start the class with greeting and an ordinary conversation 2- I will lead the conversation to the way I could connect it with the subject of the lesson 3- I will start asking different questions with intention of teaching new vocabularies and guide the class to brainstorm about the subject 4- they will answer my questions in class and of course there will be speaking activities in pairs or groups too 5- all new vocabularies will be taught as students would get through the subject comfortably PS: new vocabularies contains ( get on well with people / sort / behave / depend / opportunity / get pleasure from / enthusiastic / appreciate / envious / feel afraid /satisfaction )

While reading (15-20 minutes) • To provide students with understandable and less challenging Reading

1- students will start studying the lesson with a test prior to the main Reading part and they should calculate how happy they are and and students will have their own scores 2- there will be an activity in which they should compare their scores with their partners and I will be controlling them to find out if they are doing well or not as in the whole session 3- now in a new activity students should do question number four in pairs and say which of the four headings is the most important one in their own idea

While reading (20-25 minutes) • To provide students with covering reading part and complete answering different questions that there will be no activity left in the book

1- now it's time for the main reading part and talk about it in pairs 2- in pairs a student should do question number six and specify which of the sentences they are agree with or not if not why they aren't and what should be changed 3- now in groups of four they should discuss which is more important money or love and why (is students will have time to think individually ) and they will also discuss can the best things in life be free or not?

Post-Reading (15-20 minutes) • To provide students with different activities which focus on their speaking skills and will fix their knowledge they have gained in this session of the class

1- students will answer different questions in pairs or groups to have better improvement and it's also good for having better and more comfortable atmosphere in the class 2- I will ask the class they think if people of our society help you or not? Why? What can make people happier? 3- now they have to make a list of the things make them happy from the most important to the least. 4- then in groups of three or four they compare their list groupmates and then we all will discuss it together in the class.
