Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. Read the statements in task one. 2. In pairs, determine whether they are true or false. 3. Share your ideas with the teacher. 4. Watch the video and check your answers.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

1. Read the vocabulary in task 4. 2. Match the words with their meanings. 3. Check your answers with the teacher. 4. Now listen and underline the vocabulary when you hear it.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

1. Read the questions. 2. Listen and answer the questions. 3. Listen again and check your answers. 4. Share your answers with the teacher.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

1. Think of some ideas/ways to maintain environmentally friendly tourism in your city/town (create a draft). 2. Listen again. 3. list ideas/ways to maintain environmentally friendly tourism in your city/town in pairs. 4. Share your ideas with the teacher.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1. Quickly go through the vocabulary in the long list. 2. In pairs or small groups, use some of that vocabulary to create sentences that promote environmentally friendly tourism. 3. Share your ideas with the teacher.
