1. T. shares in the Zoom chat a link to Google Jamboard, where Ss. will see images of different daily activities. 2. T. asks the Ss. to make guesses what are those pictures about. 3. Ss discuss as a class, T. nominates Ss to share their guesses. (1min) 4. T. explains that Ss. are going to work on word pairs (collocations) that often go together. 5. T. will give Ss a task to match the verbs and the nouns to form "word pairs" Ss will work in pairs in breakout rooms. (2min) 4.OCFB (1-2 min)
1.T. shares in Zoom chat box a link to Google Sites tells Ss that they will read quickly a short text and will think about two questions (gist reading). 2. Ss will work individually for 2 minutes before they compare answers in pairs (breakout rooms 2min). 3.OCFB, Ss share their answers with the class (1min).
1. T. will screenshare an image of google forms where Ss will see a cline with numbers and indicators of feelings, starting with a big smile and declining to unhappy faces. Under the cline will be seen the TL (collocations chosen from the text) in random order. 2. T will ask students to tell the correct number according to the way they understand the meaning of the collocations. 3. T. rights the numbers in the correct order and asks CCQs to confirm Ss understand the meaning: "go away for a couple of days"- Let's imagine you have a holiday and you want to take a break from your daily routine and change the place ( the environment). How long will you be absent (away)? Will you go for a few hours? A day? "Had a great time" -CCQs "When you enjoy activity a lot is it "good" or not "so good" do we feel happy or sad? "Had a bad cold"- CCQS- "When someone is having runny nose and can't go to work, feeling bad is it because that person is healthy or not?" "Stayed at home all weekend"- CCQs- "When someone doesn't go out anywhere, are they usually at home or outside?" T. will demonstrate the pronunciation two times and ask the students if they here where is the linking or if a certain sound is missing Ex: "In the word pair 'had a great time', can you hear the both 't's in "great time"? Or is it just one?"-"One" T. drills pronunciation with students. T. asks S which form of speech is the first word, "What follows this verb?". SS work together as a class. T. asks Ss is this word pair a formal or informal? Can we use those word pairs in a written emails to our boss or in a speech? - They are informal (everyday words).
T. shares in Zoom chat a link to Google forms, T. screenshares and explains the task to Ss. Ss will have to fill in the gaps with TL and they will have 2 minutes for individual work. Ss will compare answers in pairs for 1 min in breakout room (if only 2 or 3 students share answers in a class discussion). Ss. share their answers and T. gives them a FB. - 2 minutes
Teacher asks the students "What do you like to do in your free time?" T. demonstrates "If I have free time in the weekend I like to go for a walk in the park." Ss will discuss in pairs what is everyone's everyday activity. (breakout rooms 2 minutes). Ss share their experience. T. conducts FB and DEC (3min)
