  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Going out

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1-Greet your students, introduce yourself in a small game which has some words related to context then make name cards to help yourself remember their names. 2-Display 3 pictures of some people in different places. 3-Ask ss 1) ‘Where are they ? 2)What can they do there ? 4-Ask ss to answer the questions in groups. 5-Ask two or three ss about the answers.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Introduce the difficult words in the listening: 1-Llive music (adj) (context) ].Every weekend, I go to Seagull restaurant and I enjoy watching the musicians play music in front of me while having my dinner What do we call this activity? Give ss 5-10 seconds to think then model it twice first, then drill it. Finally write it on the board. 2-Luxury (adj) (picture) display the picture and highlight the difference by asking which one is more expensive and special .Model and drill. Write it on the board and highlight X. 3- traditional (adj) (picture) - Do Egyptians people often eat Koshri ? Yes - Is it one of our way of life ? Yes - Is Sushi one of our way of life ? No What do you call this? Give ss a few seconds to think then say it (don’t over elicit/torture them).

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

1-Set the reading task: ‘You will read three adverts for places. Then fill the table. 2-Chest the handout and tell ss that the questions are in order; three each. 3-Ask these ICQs: How many places do you have ? Three What information do you want to find ? opening time. food and music.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

1-Set the reading task: ‘You will read one more time to answer 6 questions about adverts. 2-Chest the handout and tell ss that the questions are in order. 3- model with them question N 3. 3-Ask these ICQs: How many questions? 5

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1-Which restaurant would you like to go ? why? 2- Ask them to discus in groups . 3- Encourage ss to ask you follow-up questions to get more information about the fthe restaurant. 4- Do some open pairs as a demonstration. 5-Encourage them to have a conversation about their favorite restaurant and remind them with follow up questions. 6-Write some question words on the board to help your students form questions. 7-Ask them to start the conversation; monitor. 8-Get content feedback by asking ss about their partner
