Procedure (29-39 minutes)
T talks about the things that she did previous week using simple past and past continuous in order to remind the usage to the students.
T writes a sentence on the board in simple past tense and also past continuous tense to draw Ss attention to the grammar structure.
T expresses the difference of the tenses and ask Ss questions to clarify the meaning and the structure. Ex: I was having shower at 7 pm yesterday. ( in a specific time period) Ex: I answered the phone. ( I did it in a short time / instant action)
T picks up one of the sentences of a student and writes on board. With backchaining technique all the classroom repeats with T. Ex: I was having dinner at 7 pm yesterday evening. Ex:I answered the phone.
After T shows the usage of making questions in past form, she wants them to have a conversation in simple past and past continuous form. ( grammar drills)
