Description

in this lesson, students will learn to talk about simple presents throughout a reading text about dating. After that, they will speak about themself, and with a timeline, they are going to clearly understand the time of the tense they are speaking with.i am going to use a story book named "Stranger " from Albert Camus to highlight the target language .By completing some blank practice they will do their controlled practice and finally, they will fill out a form and talk about their friends

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of simple present in the context of dating

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a letter in the context of online dating form

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

i start to talk about new online dating systems and challenge its pros and cons

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

i try to student-centered this stage by talking about their experiments

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I use some of the sentences from the storybook to highlight my target language, students should find evidence of using simple present

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I cover the meaning of the target language by explaining when and how we use this grammar point, I also illustrate a timeline on the board to simply teach them that point. I am going to elicit the structure of grammar points from students and give them the opportunity to find the correct form. The sentence's stress will definitely be taught .

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

students are going to solve the practice on page 126 individually for about 10 minutes. then I will check the answers and do some speaking tasks in pairs to get and give feedback on the spot and correct them.

Semi-Controlled Practice (10-15 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

students should write down some sentences about their day's routine. then I check them and they will read it aloud.

Free Practice (15-20 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will give the students some flashcards of daily routine, and divide students into groups of three. First of all, they should speak about their cards then about the second person, and last but not the least about the third person .by this way they will learn how they can speak simple present with different subjects (I, You, He/She, We)
