Main Aims

To provide gist and detailed reading practice using a text about the universe in the context of the solar system and the earth

Subsidiary Aims

To provide practice of seconed conditional sentences in the context of the solar system and the earth
To provide review of the universe words in the context of the solar system and the earth

Procedure (59-90 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (15-25 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

at first, I am going to pre teach some words such as distance, radiation. evaporate, axis, and hemisphere .In the meantime I will start some questions to teach grammar.

controlled practice (5-8 minutes) • To elicit the knowledge of the students about the grammar

I will ask some questions in second conditional and wait for the answers to know how much they now about the second conditional. then I will give them a worksheet to answer

grammar (5-8 minutes) • To teach the grammar

I will start some questions to teach grammar.I will introduce the conditional sentences then I will teach the seconed conditional.

semi controlled practice (3-6 minutes) • To understand better about the grammar

I will give students some worksheet to practice grammar.

warm up part 2 (8-10 minutes) • To get ready for the reading.

I will continue the warm up about the reading and I will give a hand out about the solar system and some pictures about the Milky Way.

Exposure (10-15 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

students are going to read the text and answer to the questions related to the text and we will check them together.

semi controlled practice (5-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will give them a worksheet in multiple choices about the seconed conditional and I will check it all.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will give the students some worksheet about the grammar that they have learnt. and they should talk about each sentence from the paper to free practice speaking and grammar in pairs. then i will ask them to speak voluntarily and then I will call some names.
