Description

in this lesson , students learn about some expressions used to talk about daily routine . Moreover, they learn about the first and Third verb form of present simple tense through both the situational approach and test teach teach approach.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of present simple tense / morning and evening activities in the context of Daily routine

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of Daily routine

Procedure

Warmer (2-3 minutes) • To engage students

I will show them some emoji and ask them tell me about your name , age , how do you feel ? and to tell me something they like . I will give them an example before giving them time to speak .

Lead in ( Elicit the target language in the video ) (2-3 minutes) • To set the context of the lesson

I will show them a picture presents someone's daily routine . I will ask them . What is this picture about ? what can you see

Test (4-6 minutes) • To provide students with a vocabulary exercise

I will show them some pictures next to some sentences . I will ask them to match the pictures with the suitable sentences

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will teach the challenging sentences with drilling for better pronunciation

Test (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with more practice for the target language.

I will let them fill the gaps of some sentences using some verbs . I will ask them to choose the suitable verbs for the sentences.

Highlighting (4-7 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will tell them about my daily routine, and my friend's routine .

Clarification (5-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

After eliciting the sentence, I will ask them some CCQs to check their understanding. Then, I will show them the sentence , ask them some questions , elicit and clarify the positive and negative forms .

Controlled Practice (4-6 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I will show them some sentences with gaps to be filled after changing the verbs to present simple .

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will show them some questions and I will ask them to ask and answer these questions.

Feedback (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with content and language feedback

I will show them some good and wrong comments and sentences .I will ask them to check which sentence is correct and which one needs to be fixed .
