Description

In this lesson they are going to learn a grammar point (comparative adjective or adverb) . They are also going to learn some related and useful adjectives or adverbs to use the grammar point. They will also have a short speaking practice on the point they have learned.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification , introduce and teach them comparative adjective or adverb form in English and make them able to compare two things, people, places using related adjective.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice camrative for long adjectives and adverbs

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

First I want talk about my brother and me or difference between my brother and me ( behavior, favourite animal , hobbies, ) I will ask the students to tell and compare the difference between you and your sister or brother . Next I use pictures to memorize grammar.

Highlighting (4-6 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Put two pictures on the board to compare (elephant and mouse ) 1 syllable ask them to compare them e.g mouse is smaller than elephant. 2or more syllables e.g lion is more dangerous than cat and also for good and bad adjective . e.g the cat is better than lion.

Clarification (5-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I am going to my students tell me an example . I draw a table and teach regular and irregular adjectives and adverb. To campare two people , places, things. or action 1. comparative adjective 2. comparative adverbs (for actions) . 3.less/more + adjectives or adverbs 4.(not )as + adjective/ adverb + as comparative adjectives regular/ irregular campartive adverbs regular/ irregular
