Main Aims

  • To provide speaking activities to increase fluency and enable students to use the verb make along with other structures to express feelings in the context of personal experiencies.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide students with an audio track to practice their listening for gist and detail.
  • To enable students to understand the key expressions through language clarification.
  • To provide students with useful languae to practice their speaking skills.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students in the topic of feelings.

Share screen - SLIDES Introduce the topic. Have ss ask the driving questions to warm up.

Exposure (5-6 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through an audio track.

Move on to slides 2 Explain that ss will listen to 6 people talking to get the gist Have them answer the gist question. Go to slide 3 Do the first item together in open classroom Have them listen on and answer the remaining questions. OCFB

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

MEANING Slides 4 to 9 Go through the CCQs to clarify meaning FORM Slides 10 to 13 Fill out the table along with ss PRONUNCIATION Slides 14 to 18 Go over IPA symbols, clause stress, and sentence intonation

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
