To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of people they know
Procedure (35-45 minutes)
T will show SS a Youtube Video about people from different backgrounds talking about one thing they love about themselves. T will ask "What are some things you love about yourselves?" SS will discuss in BOR.
T will show SS an audio where a couple argues and uses target language. SS will fill in the blanks as they listen and compare answers in BOR. T will provide answers for SS to check.
T will implement guided discovery and ask SS to deduce the meaning and the formula of introductory clauses to add emphasis to ideas. T will show formulas. T will play audio and elicit students to notice pronunciation patterns.
SS will rewrite sentences using introductory phrases and begin the sentences with the words in parenthesis; they will work individually. SS will compare answers in BOR. T will show answers for SS to check their work after BOR FB.
T will provide students with the prompt: "Share five things about someone you love and use introductory phrases". SS will discuss in BOR and then switch. T will monitor BOR for DEC.
