Procedure (32-42 minutes)
T demonstrates a picture of presents and asks what they are. T asks students for some examples of good and bad presents. T demonstrates a picture of a parachute jump and ask if it is a good present.
T pre-teaches the following vocabulary items: - land - float down - break/broke - frightened - incredible SS read 5 sentences from the story and match them with the pictures. First individually, then WCFB.
SS listen to the interview a person who had a parachute jump. SS answer a few questions: - did he enjoy the jump? - would he like to do it again? why (not)?
SS listen to the track again and order the event of the story. Pair check, then WCFB
SS in pairs and small groups discuss the following questions: 1. Is skydiving safe or dangerous? Why? 2. Would you like to do it? Alone or with an instructor? Why? 3. Is parachute jumping popular in your city? 4. Do you know people who did jumped with a parachute? How did they feel? 5. Would you like to do any other extreme sport? Which? Why?
