Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I am going to show the students some pictures of things I ate yesterday through a food diary I wrote supported with pictures to let them name the items. Then, Using exercise number a, I am going to ask them to write their food diary and discuss in the main room together with a feedback.

Pre-Teach Vocabulary (3-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

To discuss the following 3 words that might stop them from understanding the text: 1- Healthy Hannah. 2- Luxury Lucy 3- Fast Food Frank I am going to use CCQs to assure that they got the meaning clearly: 1- Are the "pensioners" young people? No 2- Does "keen on" mean sad? No 3- Does "take part in" means participate? Yes 4- Does "leisure" means work time? No

While-Listening Task 1 (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I am going to introduce Belinda, Bob, and Colin to the students. I am going to ask students to tell me after listening if Belinda likes Colin's Bolognese. I am going to let the students listen to the audio once. ICQs: 1- How many times will you listen to the audio? one time 2- Will you talk about Belinda's opinion? Yes I am going to ask the students about Belinda's opinion in the feedback.

I will show them exercise 4.b and ask them to listen again twice to the audio and write the ingredients. I am going to send them to the breakout rooms for a couple of minutes to discuss their answers. I am going to get them back to the main room and discuss the answers through asking them for justification.

Post-Listening (Speaking Production) (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I am going to show the students a slide with three famous Egyptian dishes with a fourth blank option for them if they need to talk about a different dish. I am going to ask the them to go to the breakout rooms to discuss together if they can cook one of them, how they cook it, and I need them to get one similarity and one difference between their recipes.
