  • To provide students the opportunity to use adverbs for telling a story.

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students.

I will display images of three different films based on real events and ask students: Have you ever watched these films? If so, What are they about? What do they all have in common? Then I will show a short video from the film "Sully" and ask if they have seen it.

Sample Analysis I. (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading.

Students will read a text about the film and decide what the text is about.

Sample Analysis II. (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading.

Students will read the text again and answer some questions about the lay out of the text. Then they will check their answers with their partner in the breakout rooms.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

I will display the instructions and a short example for students to see what they are expected to do. Agoogle doc link will be provided for them. They will have to look for their name and write their text there.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Students will work in pair in the breakout rooms. A writing check list will be provided for students to go over their partner's writing. They will read their partner's story and check the list with the points they have accomplished in the text. Students will come back to the main room and I will request for volunteers who would like to share their story or their partner's.
