Description

In this lesson, students learn how to write an informal postcard through sample base on a teacher’s postcard which she wrote for her sister. The lesson starts with a short memory of teacher about sending postcards for a foreign girl name Kim about the cities of Iran. Students talk about the best holiday they ever had. Then she teaches the rules of postcards writing via PDF file. Then teacher asks students to write a first draft and check drafts with whole class and then students write second draft.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage teacher speaks about her own distance friend name Kim. whos she used to correspond with 30 years ago. she asks students if they had any interesting holiday?

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

In this stage teacher share a photo of lots of postcards and asks students guess what the lesson about? and then share a sample and teach them how to write a postcard letter( the body the address bar, signature and ...) via PDF file

Useful Language (3-4 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

In this stage teacher teaches related vocabulary about travelling, holidays ,places, and teaches the tense which she/he must use. via a photo and asks them to match

Productive Task(s) (5-8 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

In this stage teacher asks students to write first draft postcard for their friend about one of the most interesting places or cities their visit.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

In this stage teacher gets the first draft and corrects it and gives the feedback in person and asks students to complete it at home and bring next week. and then ask students to write second one about their hometown to a foreign friend.
