Description

In this lesson ss would study a topic related to the history of sandwich , in which ss practice on their reading skill and also some new vocabulary but by this way they can improve their speaking too.

Materials

Abc HO and audio

Main Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about the history of sandwich in the context of related to food

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about search for names
  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a to debate and discuss about their personal idea

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (15-17 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I provide some topics to make s to talk about it by their personal idea e.g. "Are u into fast food?" or " what's your favorite fast food?" . In this way I can set the lesson context and make them eager to talk.

Exposure (10-12 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

after I make them more familiar with the topic then want them to read the text quickly in 2 min then related to ex 2 in SB find and follow the names through the text by their own then in pair discuss together

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

In here ss should read the text again carefully and complete ex 3 then with their partner check the answer then with the class.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the stress on lesson

Here is a little grammer notes in using the structures "count & uncount n" and "some/any" and "would like" so first I give the instruction then write some example on the WB so the can guss and learn.

Free Practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Mention to "world sandwich week" and give a little instruction about it and elicit ss and get their personal idea about this event. After that I make them in 4 group to discuss and decide to make good serve of sandwich they can and why? then the leader of the group explain that to the class.(They can also follow the rules of grammer part)

Highlighting (5-7 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

There is a box of new words related to text and also listening so ss in pairs check the words together to make them clear than can ask me if they want know more.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

In listening part , before they become familiar withe the word so they can deal with listening part easily so I played the audio they just listened what happened then i play it again to complete the chart and check it in pair.
