Description

In this lesson, we are focusing on speaking skills including new vocabularies and listening task as well.

Materials

Abc HOs created by the teacher.
Abc Cutting Edge (SB).

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation both in pairs and individually in the context of reviewing something and the frequency of doing it.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice and clarification of describing things in the context of frequent activities.

Procedure

Lead in. (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I'll share a screen with the ss including a variety of activities that they may do them regularly or sometimes or never. They have to give a rate individually from (1-4), regarding (1)= never do it and (4)= always do it, Then, they are going to compare the rates given in BRs for 3 minutes.

Pre-teach vocabulary. (7-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Some words and phrases from the lesson will be chosen to teach them before listening to an audio track. so that, the ss will be able to understand the gist of the context in addition to the details the speakers are going to tell. For this, I'm going to attach some pictures related to the word and then drill them for practicing.

Listening task. (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

In this stage, the ss are going to listen to 3 speakers separately and try to figure out what the speakers are talking about to be capable of answering a follow-up questions based on the audio they'd listen to.

Productive Task(s) (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

In this stage, the ss are ready to choose a topic from ex 1 to talk about using some of the questions provided. Then, in pairs, ss will discuss what they've written about their topics and tell each other.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

This is the final stage when the ss would come back from BRs. We'd have WC discussion and feedback so that, the common mistakes can be corrected.
