Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of the past perfect Tense in the context of story

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide process writing practice of a sentences in the context of daily life

Procedure

Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will ask ss about the activities that they did yesterday and then the order of these activities.

Highlight language (5-8 minutes) • To highlight the target language [TL] in context

I will set the context like a story and started telling the ss two actions and then asked them to identify which action had happened first.

Clarify language (meaning) (2-4 minutes) • To provide clarification of meaning of the TL and check Ls understand the target language for meaning

I will start to ask ss about what did the get from the meaning and use some CCQs to check their answers.

Clarify language (form) (5-7 minutes) • To provide clarification of the form of the TL

I will set the positivemnegative and inerogative forms and ask ss to find out the differences and what had happened to the verb.

Clarify language (pronunciation) (3-5 minutes) • To provide clarification of the pronunciation of the TL

I will drill some sentences to check the pronunciation.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I will ask ss to answer ex1 in SB to check their understanding and then ask them to work in pairs to check the answers then give them the feedback.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will ask ss to write four sentences using the past perfect tense so and then discuss the sentences and give the feedback
