Vocabulary Lesson - Creative Jobs

Description

In this lesson students will learn about creative jobs and what are the qualities needed for that. The students will be introduced the topic through thorough teacher and pair discussion . They will be tested on these vocabulary since they encountered them before , then I will cover them regarding meaning, form and pronunciation. They will fill in the blanks and practice speaking at the end.

Procedure

Lead-in (4-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will show the title "creative jobs" on the screen and ask them what is a creative job in their opinion. Then, I distribute cards and ask them to discuss these jobs in pairs, how creative or non-creative they are . Once they picked out the creative ones, I will ask them to decide using the rubric in exercise 1 : Which jibs do you need to be .... active? good at painting ?

Test #1 (6-8 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

I will give the students a matching activity to answer : I chose those words : 1. Film Director 2. Artist 3. Architect 4. Musician 5. Inventor

Teach (10-16 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

I will clarify the follwing words regarding meaning, form and pronunciation using the ECDW rule : 1. Film Director 2. Artist 3. Architect 4. Musician 5. Inventor

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

I will provide the students with a fill in the blanks activity where students use the target language used in Excersise 1

Free practice (13-20 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

They will be provided by set of questions to discuss with their partners. Monitor and take notes of SS content and language for the feedback stage.
