Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

*T will take the screenshot for the participants to use it later in the session. *T greets students. *T teacher shares her PPT screen asking Ss about what they can see on the screen to check if they can see his screen). * Screen will show people meeting their life partners. * I will ask Ss who they met their life partners and if anybody has any experience with online dating or maybe Facebook dating.

Pre-Listening (5-6 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

*T will show Ss Darren and Natasha, asking "What do you think is happening here?". *Ss will start guessing. *T will let Ss guess Ex1a answers from the appearance of each character. * T focuses on the texts in b to show that these are emails between Darren and Natasha. *T asks Ss to read the emails and answer Ex1a individually. *T gives Ss 2 minutes asking them ICQs(ex, are you going to read? How many minutes do you have?) *Ss read the emails and decide whether it is Darren or Natasha. *T will provide the whole class feedback. *T Provides an answer key.

While-Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

*T shows Ss a photo of Darren and Natasha on their date asking them to guess what Darren and Natasha think about (alcohol, his mother, sushi ) ex:(Look at the photo and decide.) Who likes to drink alcohol? Who doesn't like sushi? Who looks like a mother person? Do they look happy? * T asks Ss to listen once to answer Ex b. "What does Natasha say about (alcohol, his mother, and sushi)". *T gives instructions Ex: Try to find the answer. Then you will check it in breakout rooms(2 minutes). Be ready with a pen and notebook. (Write down ) *T gives ICQS ex: Are you going to listen? Are you going to focus on Natasha's speech? Are going to write notes? *After listening, T will let them check their answers in breakout rooms. (2 minutes ) in the breakout rooms) *T gives a whole class

While-Listening #2 (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

*T shows Ss a conversation between Darren and Natasha on their date giving them 2 minutes to read it and try to answer it before listening again. (T comforts them that it is ok not to know all the answers because they will listen to the audio again.) ex: * T asks Ss to listen twice to answer Ex 2 b and complete the conversation. *T gives instructions Ex: Try to complete the missing parts. Be ready with a pen and notebook. (Write down ) *T gives ICQS ex: Are you going to listen one time? Are you going to fill in the gap? *After listening, T will let them check their answers in breakout rooms. (2 minutes ) in the breakout rooms) *T gives whole class feedback.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

*T provides Ss with two women and two men photos each photo has its qualifications. ex: One photo represents a very rich man and another one that represents a family person. One photo represents a beautiful woman and another one that represents a doctor. *T asks Ss to choose which kind of life partner they will choose. * T gives clear instructions You will speak about your favorite(that you dream about) life partners in the breakout rooms. You have 6 minutes in the breakout rooms. When you come back you will speak about your group members' favorite life partners. Keep it funny. * T asks ICQs before sending them to the breakout rooms Ex: What are you going to speak about? How many minutes do you have? Are you going to speak about your real-life partner? *T gives them a model before sending them to the breakout rooms. *T monitors the breakout rooms. * T gives a whole class feedback.
