this stage has already been covered in the first half of the session.
Students work individually to name the parts of the human body referred to by numbers on the first slide. Then the teacher shows the second slide and asks them to match the pictures with the adjectives at the top; ' fair, dark, curly, straight '. The teacher uses CCQs to check the students` understanding of the concept and elicit information. Who has straight dark hair? Who has curly fair hair?
Students are given four pictures and asked to use two adjectives from the previous slide to describe each of them. They will work individually and check as a class. After they finish they answer this question: If I want to use ' long or short' here, where can I add it? a. short straight fair hair or b. straight short fair hair The teacher then provides them with two marker sentences to check their answer of the previous question. Then they work in pairs to correct these two sentences: a. My son has dark curly hair. b. My daughter has fair, long straight hair. They will have a class correction. Finally, the teacher elicit from the students the correct sequence of adjectives guided with four sentences to read as a prompt.
The teacher gives students four scrambled sentences to unscramble them to form correct sentences. Students work in pairs and then the teacher gives them a slide with the correct sentences to check their work as a class.
To further check students` understanding of the concept and make sure they are ready for the freer practice, the teacher gives them a picture of eight people and four sentences describing for of them. Students have to match the sentences with four people. They work individually, then check their answers as a class. The teacher uses ICQs to check their understanding of the task. After that, the students have to work in pairs to describe the other four people in the same way. The teacher uses CCQs e.g. Who`s got short curly hair? Who`s got short dark straight hair?
Teacher asks students to work in pairs having a conversation describing the hair of two of their family members and/or two of their friends. The teacher monitors and take notes for class correction and feedback.
