Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows a jamboard with questions T ask questions: °At your job, are there things that you need to do? °Are ther things that you need to do?

Text - work (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T shows a text and SS read While SS read they do an activity °Complete the sentences with can, can't, have to or don't have to

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T clarifies language T covers MPF T shows a short activiy to understand grammar and SS respond

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T shows an activity SS make the activity °Complete the conversation with the words in the box.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T gives a situation to SS to make roleplay °Situation: You are talking to a friend about your job, you have to mention 3 thigs you can or can't do and 3 thing you have to or don't have to do at your job. For example: At my job I have to make bread / I can't do delicious bread.
