Main Aims

  • To provide review and practice of the kind of stories in the context of pictures

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of their favourite story

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students by asking them about kinds of stories.

I will as ss to by asking them to match the photos with the categories of the stories. I will give them 2 minutes to do it individually. I will ask them to check in pairs then I will give them feedback.

Test (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

I will ask ss to answer Ex 2a and check their understanding, I will also be able to focus on the points that I will focus on.

Teach (8-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

I will show them some pictures for the vocabulary and ask them to elicit the word, and then they will set in a context, after that drilling and writing. (ECDW)

Test #2 (5-8 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

I will as ss to answer ex 1 (vocabulary) p.75 in WB using SB. ss will have times to answer individually then they will work in pairs to check their answers. finally they will get their feedback.

Free practice (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will ask ss to choose a favourite story and explain to other ss why he/she likes it. I will monitor them to give my feedback.
