Procedure (35-45 minutes)

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students.

1. Have learners talk about (in pairs) 1 or 2 questions related to the topic of the lesson (text).

Text-work (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation.

2. Use/Adapt the text and design a task that exposes learners to the TL. Learners read and answer individually. They compare answers in pairs (via private messages), then OCFB. See video: https://youtu.be/FbC-TCKgVfs

Language clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language.

3. Cover Meaning, Form, and pronunciation of the TL (on Google Slides or Forms, jamboard)

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice.

4. Provide controlled practice of the TL. (Check the workbook for tasks). The learners do this individually and then check in pairs (on breakout rooms). OCFB

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language.

8. Create a communicative task for learners to use the language fluently. (use breakout rooms) 9. Conduct feedback on the task. 10. Delayed Error Correction (DEC).
